1875 Carmen

Subtle Seducer

A set of samples of HdP had been in my possession for a while. After the first test I found all HdP more or less pleasant to smell but it didn't blow my mind. Now I have suddenly discovered 1875. I actually like the top notes the least. It may indeed smell a bit medicinal like some people say, but it somehow reminds me of nettle tea too. But wait! After not too long it starts to smell a bit smoky, a bit sweet but certainly not too much. I don't recognize myself in the comparison with chewing gum that I saw online, but it also depends on your own skin of course. Some people make a comparison with Black Orchid by Tom Ford, although I like that scent too, it is certainly not the same in my opinion. Maybe it's the kind of 'tea' smell that makes them smell alike. In any case, a recommendation that you should give some time to settle on your skin.
I would describe it as a 'warm' scent, fit for autumnal scenes with a base that you will still smell in the morning. I love it.

I can't stop inhaling this

Do I need to go to some sort of help group? I have been overspraying it when I'm home alone and using it every day. Idk what's in it that smells so heavenly. I don't particularly like patchouli but here it's layered so well with other things that is not overwhelming. The amber (actually the notes do not mention amber, but this is what I smell). Some sort of citrus comes through. This is on my top shelf, with the Guerlains, my vintage Carons and others. Usually I stick to vintage and snub the new perfumes but I LOVE IT. A sexpot Oriental.

Audacious, disruptive, generous, hyper-creative, and... Parisian!

Such are the fragrances envisioned by Gérald Ghislain, a loquacious individual with a luxuriant imagination who has chosen to bring his stories to life through perfumes, a sensitive and sensual medium.
