With this perfume library, Gerald Ghislain wanted to evoke stories through scent just as books are written with emotions.

The author

Gérald Ghislain wrote his own story with the frantic rhythm of a passionate jack of all trades.
An epicurean, he tastes all of life’s savors, sprinkling his daily life with refined luxury.
He gives his all to his projects. Insatiable wonderer, he listens, reads and discovers, drawing inspiration from his trips and encounters. Gerald is impulsive and fully committed to his projects.
Gerald founded Histoires de Parfums in 2000 and created a collection of rare and delicate perfumes: these perfumes like him are rich in temperament and are so, so romantic!

Our fragrances

When he is creating his perfumes, Gérald interprets in a new way the classic olfactive families by including an unexpected component, to obtain an original and surprising collection.
Our perfumes have a long trail, deep tempered, dense notes and are extremely sensual.

The mythical personalities of long ago have been brought back to life by Gérald Ghislain, who has created a fragrance evoking each of them. To his favorite writers, George Sand, Casanova, Jules Verne, he added the sublime figures of Mata Hari and Eugénie de Montijo, who taken together create a gallery of characters in full color: romantic, epic, neo classic, erotic, the moods and faces are endless…

Cult Books
1969, Ambre 114
There are always major works, timeless classics or exclusive editions hidden in every library. Here, two interpretations of sensuality, two erotic translations which carry us from the East to the West.

Noir PatchouIi, Blanc Violette, Vert Pivoine
A second series tells stories based on flowers or plants in a very personal style.

Ceci n'est pas un flacon bleu / This is not a blue bottle
This is not a blue bottle 1/.1, This is not a blue bottle 1/.2, This is not a blue bottle 1/.3
This is not a blue bottle derives its name from The Treachery of Images, a famous work in the 1920s by the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. The painting shows the image of a pipe above a declaration which reads, translated from French, as “This is not a pipe”. In between the line where things go from void to existence, there is a profound depth of possibility.
This is not a blue bottle is the allegory of a fragrant big bang, a journey from the abstract to the most fiery of emotions in the infinite realm of blue. This is the expression of an olfactory hallucination and a blue page representing freedom of expression for all.

En Aparté
Irrévérent, Outrecuidant, Prolixe
[a p a R t e] loc. adv. Littér.
[ETYM. From Latin a: pars, partis: «apart, aside»].
|| Discreet conversation, in private
Like a conversation, perfume is an expression, conveyed at times in the form of a declaration and at other times a secret. There is that which can be said aloud and clearly, and that which can only be expressed in private, with the utmost discretion. Such an intention is featured in the En Aparté collection. A space offering complete freedom to elicit without compromise while coveting secrets and privacy as well. Irrévérent, Outrecuidant, Prolixe, three compositions unveiled behind closed doors at Histoires de Parfums.

Rosam, Ambrarem, Petroleum, Veni, Vidi, Vici, Fidelis
This fragrant expression is a tribute to the most beautiful verse of the Orient and the Occident.
The Three Golds Symbols of eternity, wisdom and love.
Veni - Eternal yellow gold represents what we make of our life and leave as our legacy.
Rosam - Then there is the white gold with silver symbolizing wisdom, which is the soul’s greatest gift.
Fidelis - In a marriage between gold and copper, True Love flourishes, blushes and binds together the souls in love. Three beloved scented poems that touch the heart of gold’s mysterious and sensual make up of a secret collection with life’s treasures unveiled.

Tubéreuse 1 CAPRICIEUSE (capricious), Tubéreuse 2 VIRGINALE (virginal) et Tubéreuse 3 ANIMALE (animal)
The mythical tuberose flower is a symbol of desire and dangerous pleasures. Tuberose’s fragrance is considered one of the most powerful floral scents and presents a noble challenge for any perfumer to bottle, yet has inspired many legendary fragrances. A powerful aphrodisiac, the green top notes gradually fold into a wild and bewitching deep bouquet of fragrance.

1889 - Moulin Rouge
Created in collaboration with the Moulin Rouge, 1889 has become the signature fragrance and namesake perfume of this legendary Cabaret.

Opera and perfume exalt women.
Some scents like some melodies still lead in the air, intangible and yet unforgettable. Music and perfume operate with the same dazzling dynamic, they travel their notes in an ephemeral and intangible space. The title roles of five great operas inspired Histoires de Parfum’s five sumptuous fragrances, portraits of five divas.
